FREE of all charges to qualified homeowners and renters.

Sun Power provides the following free weatherization services to qualified homeowners and renters in Denver and Jefferson Counties. Funding for these services come from Federal, State, and Local government programs that have been established to assist low-income citizens with the burdens of ever increasing energy costs.

Clients' who qualify for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program also quality for Sun Power's weatherization services. Funding for these energy efficient weatherization services come from U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Governor's Energy Office (GEO) and Xcel Energy.

Our weatherization process begins with you. Once you are qualified for services, our staff will schedule an appointment to interview you to discuss your home's particular needs. Then we will conduct a thorough review of the energy efficiency needs of your dwelling including: insulation; heating system safety and efficiency; air sealing and tightness, electric savings measure. We will answer your questions and explain the no-cost services that you will receive.

Your actual weatherization benefit may include any of the following:

	INSULATION If needed, high-quality cellulose insulation is blown into attics and dense packed into the wall cavities of site-built homes. Many homes also benefit from foundation insulation. Mobile homes may reap substantial savings from insulating the roof, or side walls.

FURNACE SERVICES Our qualified furnace technicians will conduct thorough safety checks, including a carbon monoxide test and gas leak inspection for your furnace and water heater. An inefficient furnace maybe replaced with highest energy efficient units possible for your particular situation.

QUALITY ASSURANCE After all weatherization measures have been completed, our technicians will recheck the work completed to ensure quality and energy saving results. On all work requiring a permit, city inspectors will conduct specific code inspections of that work.

	ENERGY EDUCATION Client education plays a very important role in assuring the greatest savings possible for your home. You will be able to ask your Sun Power team all of your energy conservation questions throughout the weatherization process. We will help you identify opportunities for you to get control of your utility costs.

RESULTS While no two homes are the same, we are proud of achieving an average of 20% reduction in gas usage in the homes that we service. Some save less and some save even more. We have had occasional reports of utility bills reduced by as much as 50%!
