Who we are:
Sun Power, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit Colorado corporation, was founded in 1979 as a non-profit consumer association with the mission of assisting low-income households reduce energy consumption. Over the years we have developed several cutting-edge procedures in the area of combustion appliance efficiency and safety, one of which is the nationally recognized "Sun Power Method" of furnace performance modification. These procedures, as well as our air sealing, insulation measures, and electric base load reductions measures, have been thoroughly tested and refined in thousands of homes in the Denver area. Additionally, they have helped Sun Power gain a national reputation as experts and trainers in the field of energy conservation.
Sun Power's Mission Statement
To provide energy conservation services to the general public and in particular to low-income families and individuals in order to help reduce their dependence on purchased energy, making their homes more affordable, safer, and comfortable.
Sun Power is a fully equipped insulation company providing services primarily for existing home retrofits, but also capable of servicing new construction projects. As advocates of cellulose as both an insulating and air sealing product (and for environmental reasons), we focus on the installation of this product in attics and sidewalls. Fiberglass insulation is used in foundation and new construction applications
Sun Power boasts a staff of Home Energy Raters that have developed a lower cost home energy audit approach to housing projects that enables us to capture the maximum energy savings at the lowest reasonable cost allowing for a rapid return on investment. Our auditors are also certified by E-Star of Colorado to provide services for homeowners and potential homebuyers.
Sun Power offers state of the art testing and field application of energy auditing and consumption analysis for developers, contractors and homeowners. Our energy audit services employ the use of a blower door, duct blaster, and infrared scans to measure thermal and air leakage, duct leakage, and heating system efficiency. Based upon the results of these tests, customers can make informed decisions on how to cost effectively make their homes more comfortable and energy efficient.
